Besan Coconut Barfi

Ingredients:

1 cup gram flour/ besan


ree

1/2 water

1 cup desiccated coconut

1cup sugar

1/4th teaspoon cardamon powder

1/2 cup ghee

few strands of saffron


Dry roast the Gram flour/ besan on low heat and add coconut. Mix well stir and switch the gas off . Gram flour should be golden yellow .

Now in a saucepan we will make the syrup. Add water and sugar let it boil and get to a bit sticky consistency. Add cardamon powder and saffron strands to it to add color. Now go back to the pan that has the besan and coconut switch the gas back on and add the ghee little by little and keep mixing till it's smooth and add the prepared syrup to it. Now spread this mix in a flat pan or tray and before spreading just lightly grease the surface. Let the mixed batter cool for an hour then cut in your desired shape , garnish with nuts or more saffron.
